Exercise 1: Reflecting on Past Achievements

Introduction

Welcome to the first of six exercises designed to help you use this special time of year to grow and prepare for the future. Before we jump into setting goals and looking ahead, it’s important to pause and reflect on the year you’ve just been through.

Much of our inspiration to move forward comes from recognizing the positive things we’ve already accomplished. By taking a moment to celebrate your successes—no matter how small—you’ll remind yourself of what you’re capable of and build the confidence to achieve even more.

Instructions

1. Find a Quiet Space
Choose a peaceful place where you can think and write without interruptions.

2. Look Back on the Past Year
Reflect on the past year (or further back if you’d like). Identify the positive things you’ve done, your accomplishments, and any successes—big or small—that stand out to you.

3. Write Them Down
Write a list of your achievements. Don’t worry about how they compare to others or if they seem “good enough”—every success matters.

4. Reflect and Feel Inspired
Spend a few minutes reading through your list. Allow yourself to feel proud of what you’ve accomplished and let that feeling inspire you. This reflection will strengthen your belief in your ability to achieve even more in the future.
